Alps ride

Age UK Cheshire works with older people in Cheshire to support them in living their best life by relieving loneliness, so older people feel connected, combatting poverty, so that older people have enough to live on, and increasing independence, so older people can live the lives they want to lead.

Story

With my dad having been a trustee of Age Uk for 14 years it’s a charity that means a lot to me.

Having raised so much on the West Highland way last year I wasn’t sure if I should raise again so soon; however this year I’m taking on my biggest physical challenge and it’s something I’m unlikely to repeat again. So, if people would like to give a few pounds to help me stay motivated then it would be hugely appreciated by me and age UK Cheshire.

My challenge this year is to cycle up 8 Alps, or Cols, over 3 days in July. That’s about 220 miles and almost 9000m of climbing - about the height of Everest.

Age UK Cheshire is a local social enterprise and charity that is dedicated to later life.

We co-produce excellent services, make opportunities, connect people meaningfully and influence positive change.

Because of our work, people love later life in Cheshire.

I should also shout out YMCA Redhill - they are organising the ride and I’m self funding that sponsorship. They’re another great local charity,
