is raising money for Tweed Salmon Fishing Museum

Edinburgh kilt Walk · 14 September 2025

The Salmon Fishing Museum preserves and celebrates the rich heritage of fishing. Our permanent museum showcases the history of this iconic sport, from its origins to its influence around the world. Through exhibitions, educational programs, and community events, we inspire visitors of all ages.

Story

I’m taking on the Edinburgh Kiltwalk—a 20-mile challenge—to raise funds for the River Tweed Salmon Fishing Museum.

This small museum celebrates the rich heritage of salmon fishing on the River Tweed, from generations of ghillies and fishers to traditional skills, tools and tales that risk being lost to time.

The museum is a registered Scottish charity run entirely by volunteers, and we rely on donations to stay open and share this unique cultural history with locals, schools, anglers and visitors from all over the world.

Every penny you give goes straight to the museum and will help support:

• New displays and interpretive materials

• School visits and community events

Please sponsor me if you can – no donation is too small.

Thank you so much for your support

Gavin
