Time for a challenge (all 62 miles of it)
I enjoy cycling - I’m very much a fair weather rider and enjoy a maximum of 30 ish miles before boredom sets in and I usually head for home.
It’s been 9 years since my own personal need for WAA after a serious kick from a horse which left me in ICU and one organ lighter.
I’ve also been fortunate to see first hand on numerous occasions how they continue to give critical treatment and rapid convey for ongoing treatment within my role as an ECA with SWAST.
All the above, alongside some recent jobs which got some memories to the forefront I’ve decided to take on their 62 mile sportive this October.
Having just gotten back in the saddle after a few months off it seems the perfect challenge and would be the absolute bonus to raise much needed funds for this genuine life saving charity.
Can you support a mile? Anything donation is appreciated and fantastic and just as a guide £5-£10 a mile would make the £500 target possible.
If you can, please do donate but if not - just cheer me on when I’m out getting the miles in!!
Wiltshire Air Ambulance is a charity that provides an essential Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) across Wiltshire, Bath and surrounding areas. It needs to raise £4.5m a year to continue saving lives, but is not directly funded by the Government and receives no National Lottery funding, so relies on generous public donations.
