Story
My involvement with NICE goes back over 30 years when my daughter, Ellie, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy.
The minute we entered the building, we were met with smiles and the sound of singing & laughter – there was such a positive, happy atmosphere, we knew right away we’d found her place.
The conductors were quick to recognise Ellie’s potential and under their patient guidance, she learned many new skills and blossomed into the confident young woman she is today.
Ellie left NICE a long time ago but has I stayed on as a volunteer, and in all that time NICE hasn’t changed – it remains a place of hope and possibility for both children and adults with movement disorders, and will always be alive with the sound of laughter.
