Story
On 16th April, the UK Supreme Court ruled that the legal definition of a woman for the purposes of the Equality Act 2010 is based on biological sex. This absurd decision was made without the Court hearing from a single trans person. It has been used, along with subsequent “guidance” guidance from the Equality and Human Rights Commission, to attempt to segregate trans people in every day life, making simple tasks like going to work, a significant challenge.
For years, I’ve considered myself an ally to the trans community, but words are no longer enough. So on 12th October, I’ll be running the Manchester Half Marathon to raise funds for Not A Phase - an incredible charity working to uplift he lives of trans people all across the UK.
It was a trans woman who threw the first brick at Stonewall - the very least this gay boy can do is a bit of running to Protect The Dolls!!
