GCU Dance are delighted to be supporting this charity and will be hosting a variety of fundraisers this year!

WellChild is a national charity that gives seriously ill children the best chance to thrive in their own homes. Their mission is to provide children with the right care and support to allow them a happy family life. They want children with complex medical needs to be recognised, celebrated and empowered.

Their purpose as a charity is to make hospital discharges easier for families/carers as well as the children themselves. They provide children with support and information, listen to their needs and respond to them- particularly in their times of crisis.

WellChild is a lifeline for these children and their families. They enable children with complex medical needs to thrive at home by funding specialist nurses, connecting families through peer support, providing hands-on training, and transforming outdoor spaces.

Our Charity Co-Ordination Rebecca Watt has joined team WellChild to run the 2025 New York City Marathon and the 2026 London Marathon! She is taking on a series of other events throughout this coming year too.

Your donation will help to give this growing population of children and young people the best possible chance to thrive: properly supported at home, together with their families.

• £150 could provide a day of a WellChild Family Coordinator’s time to support families through the WellChild Family Tree

• £50 could fund a Parent Ambassador to host a local support group for parent carers in their region

• £20 could connect a WellChild Family to our vital information and support service, the WellChild Family Tree
