On the 5th October 2025 four of us - Martin, Sammy and Jenny Gee and Laurence Gardner will be running the Cardiff Half Marathon in memory of the one and only Gilly Gee.

Her work and insight as a GP meant Gillian knew she had MND before anyone else. Formal diagnosis came at the start of 2023. The journey that followed was difficult, the disease progressive and the loss extreme. Gillian however remained graceful, positive and incredibly brave throughout all the while being supported by the MND Association.

It is now our time to attempt to emulate her strength by taking on the Cardiff Half challenge in her memory.

Our experience is 'mixed' to say the least but we will all be giving it our best shot!

A little about the MND Association:

It's focus is on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

By sponsoring us you will help to support the MND work towards a world free from MND.

Totals of:

- £85 could buy software to enable someone to bank their own voice

- £280 could fund the co-ordination of care for a person with MND at a care centre for a year

- £500 could fund a tablet device with communication software giving the ability to communicate with loved ones

- £1000 could pay for detailed analysis of the DNA of someone with MND to help us better understand the causes of the disease

Once you donate, JustGiving will send your money directly to the MND Association.

50% of everything raised over £250 will be allocated to the Staffordshire MND Group for their support of local families affected by the condition.
