I am raising funds to support Dementia Active, who are a local charity in Oxfordshire that provides respite and help to those suffering from dementia. This is close to my heart as my nanny, Lucy, has dementia and is an attending member. In recent times, Dementia Active have had financial struggles, which could result in these clubs closing, which would have a detrimental effect not only on the members but also on their families. My nan attends this club 3 days a week, and the progress, enjoyment and support that she receives is a lifeline to my family.

Dementia Active is a small charity based in Oxfordshire villages and provides engagement, activity, lunch and overall support for adults who suffer from this cruel disease. Without donations, the club may have to close leaving so many adults and their families without a lifeline for their ongoing needs.

Any donations are greatly appreciated and if you have someone close to you who suffers from Alzheimer's or dementia, you know how important these charities, clubs and respite centres are.

Since my nanny Lucy started attending in 2022 in Bodicote, her symptoms of dementia have improved; the consistent routine she now has helps her remember which day it is. She looks forward to seeing the volunteers and having a coffee with them, as well as a cooked lunch, games, colouring and singing! Without the support and donations from local businesses and the amazing volunteers, her condition would worsen, and this cruel disease would continue to take my nan away from me.
