Story
My challenge
I joined the team at the British Asian Trust last year, and am both excited and daunted to be running the TCS London Marathon on 27 April 2025 to support our work. Getting round will be a big deal – it’s 20 years since I did the marathon, I’ve spent a lifetime never doing any regular sport, but I do have a good cause to motivate me to train in the cold and rain....
For the British Asian Trust
The British Asian Trust has been working to transform lives across South Asia since 2007. In October, I had the incredible experience of visiting several of our programmes in India - which included our work to prevent children being exploited through child labour, sexual exploitation and other forms of abuse.
I came away from a visit to a rural village utterly heartbroken by stories of experiences that should never happen to any child anywhere in 2025. It was inspiring to meet some of our amazing team and local partners who are working with families, village communities and government agencies to stop this happening and address the deep rooted causes of child exploitation.
Above all I was deeply moved to meet the survivors of child exploitation who despite the trauma they have experienced, work tirelessly to support other survivors and to prevent children today falling into the same terrible traps.
I am aiming to raise £5,000 to support our work. A kind donation from you would really help me reach this target and make a huge difference to the lives of children at risk of exploitation.
These places have been kindly donated to the British Asian Trust, by TCS, so all donations will go towards support our work.
