Story

🌟 I’m In! London Marathon 2026 – Here I Come!

I’m incredibly proud (and a little bit nervous!) to announce that I’ll be running the 2026 London Marathon in support of a charity that means the world to me — the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust. 🛥️💛

This isn’t just a marathon. This is a mission.

The Trust supports young people aged 8–24 as they navigate life after cancer — a life full of uncertainty, fear, and isolation. Through sailing and adventure trips, they help rebuild confidence, independence, and the belief that a bright future is still possible. Not just for those who’ve been through cancer treatment, but for their siblings too — the often-unseen heroes who’ve quietly walked alongside them through it all.

💙 Why It Matters So Much To Me

I’ve seen first-hand the incredible, gentle, and powerful work the Trust does. When your child is diagnosed with cancer, your whole world turns upside down. As a parent, sibling, or family member, you want to fix everything — to give them back their joy, their freedom, their before-cancer life.

But you can’t do it alone. That’s where the Trust comes in.

They take these brave, exhausted young people and show them that cancer doesn’t get the final say. They remind them who they were before — and who they still are. And perhaps most importantly, they show them they’re not alone.

And they don’t stop there. They also turn to the siblings — the ones who’ve watched their brother or sister go through something unimaginable. The Trust says:

"We see you too. Let’s go on your own healing adventure. You matter just as much."

🏃‍♀️ My Journey

My marathon training begins on July 19th, 2025, with my very first 5K. From there, I’ll be pushing myself further than ever before — not just in miles, but in purpose.

As part of that training, I’m walking 10,000 steps every day this November — more than double my usual! It’s a daily reminder of the steps so many children and families take every day after cancer. Small steps. Brave steps. Hopeful steps.

💛 How You Can Help

If you’re able to donate — whether it’s £2 or £20 — you’re helping fund a life-changing adventure. You’re reminding a young person that they are more than their diagnosis. That they still have dreams worth chasing. That they still matter.

Let’s run for hope.

Let’s run for healing.

Let’s run for the Trust.

Thank you so much for reading and for any support you can give — whether it’s a donation, a share, or a kind word of encouragement. It all means the world. 💙
