Story
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.
Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
Myself and Emma work at a company called COWI and they have chosen their charity this year as the Alzheimer’s Society. To support this great cause Emma and I will be taking part in a charity skydive.
We are looking to raise £800 before the big jump in March and would really appreciate your help in achieving our target.
So you may think why would I want to chuck myself out of a plane at 10,000 feet with only a piece of fabric to bring me back down to earth safely and some days I’m asking myself the same question, but Dementia and Alzheimer’s was the leading cause of death in Britain over the last 10 years.
On a personal level the charity is close to my heart as my Nan suffered from the disease later in life and seeing the effects that it had on her and my family was difficult, she went from being completely self-sufficient to being in a care home and not remembering who any of us were. The charity offers dedicated support to those that need it, campaigns for change and funds groundbreaking research for a better tomorrow.
Even a small donation can help make a difference, but if you can’t contribute at this time we completely understand and you can still help us by sharing our fundraising page to your friends and family.
JustGiving sends your donation straight to Alzheimer's Society and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more, so please consider this and tick the Gift Aid box if it apples to you.
Thank you for your support!
