Story
In April 2025, I am going to be running the London Marathon for the Christie Charity in memory of my wonderful Grandma. My Grandma was treated by Christie’s in 2020, when in the height of covid, she was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour. Up until her diagnosis she was absolutely fine, a real M&S lover and still went to the gym with her friends weekly. We lost her in May 2021 and life hasn’t been the same for our family since, but we truly appreciate the Christie and can see the care, effort and love that comes from such an incredible charity.
I have completed a few half marathons now and each time desperately wished I’d done it in her memory and raised money as a token of gratitude for extra time we managed to gain with my grandma, time that meant she could meet her great-grand daughter. One of the nurses who treated her was actually called Thea and my grandma couldn’t believe it after having never heard the name before!
Running London feels like the biggest testament to her and the way her life ended so thank you so much for reading and donating.
Love you forever, Grandma 🤍
