Story
My family love Christmas and each year we put up a Christmas lights display outside our house, this year our display has got bigger so we have decided to bring extra Christmas cheer by fundraising to benefit a local cause.
We have chosen to fundraise for St Luke’s School in Redbourn and The Collett School in Hemel Hempstead, federated by The Blue Tangerine in 2019. Both schools cater for pupils aged up to 16 years old with Special Educational Needs. The Blue Tangerine celebrates differences and promotes pupils to be proud of who they are, enabling our young people to develop the self-esteem and confidence to thrive on their embarkation to adulthood.
I have chosen to fundraise for both Schools because, through being a School Governor and a parent of a pupil at The Collett, I have seen the fantastic work that goes on in the schools.
Pupils at both schools have a variety of needs including Autism, MLD and other complex conditions.
The pupils are amazing, incredibly resilient and show everyday that a disability will not stop them achieving the very best they can in life. I am proud to be a part of the SEN community.
Please give as much or as little as you are able to, all donations are appreciated and will go towards resources to help the children to continue to thrive and achieve.
Please note - Collett School do not have a Justgiving page, however both Schools are linked through the Blue Tangerine Federation and all moneys raised will be shared equally between both The Collett and St Luke’s Schools.
Our two foundation schools federated on 31st January 2019.
Please come and see our display in Furlongs, Hemel Hempstead.
Lights will be switched on from 5pm until 10pm everyday.
