Story
Hi everyone! ❤️
I have been lucky (or mad!!) enough to take on the London Marathon 2026 to raise money for the UK Sepsis Trust.
In July 2019 I started to develop the classic signs of sepsis - muscle soreness, extreme fatigue and confusion. Luckily, the emergency GP knew the signs of sepsis and called the ambulance. Upon arriving at the hospital the doctors worked quickly, administering the antibiotics which saved my life and stopped the sepsis from progressing. My case of sepsis developed from a bout of laryngitis. It wasn’t something I had ever heard of before and something I never want to experience again. I’ll be forever grateful for the speed and efficiency of the doctors who treated me.
So many people are still not aware of what sepsis is or how to spot the signs. I’m hoping that by raising money for Sepsis UK I can play a small part in supporting the life changing work they do.
How to spot sepsis in adults
Slurred speech or confusion
Extreme shivering or muscle pain
Passing no urine (in a day)
Severe breathlessness
It feels like you’re going to die
Skin mottled or discoloured
Any money that you are able to give to support would mean the world to me, but also importantly learning the signs above could save someone’s life.
