Me and Running
Until this year, my running CV was pretty short — just one 10k race back in 2015!
Fast forward to 2026, and I've somehow gone from the occasional runner to signing up for races that seem to get longer and longer. I'm not entirely sure how that happened!
I originally entered the Chester Marathon, but after completing the Chester Half Marathon in May, I had a moment of sanity and decided that 26.2 miles might be a step too far. So I swapped my entry to the Chester Metric Marathon instead — a much more sensible 26km (16 miles!).
I completed that in October, and the following day I could barely walk downstairs, let alone contemplate running again.
Naturally, by day four I'd signed up for the Rome Marathon in March 2027! 🤦♀️😂
So here I am, about to attempt my first full marathon. That's 26.2 miles (42.2km) of running, walking, questioning my life choices and hopefully making it across the finish line!
But this time, I'm running for something much more important than a medal (although I'll definitely be wanting that medal!).
I'm raising money for Alzheimer's Research UK, and I'd be incredibly grateful for any support. Every donation, however small, will help make those miles feel worthwhile. ❤️
