Gower Peninsula Mighty Hike 2024 - full marathon · 6 July 2024 ·

In July 2024, we're hiking a half or full marathon in the stunning Gower Peninsula to raise vital funds for people living with cancer.

Story

In July 2024, I am taking on a Mighty Hike in the stunning Gower Peninsula to raise money for people living with cancer.

In 2021 I was part of a team who took on the Macmillan Mighty hike. We walked for over 27 miles and raised over £3,000. Since losing my dad in 2019 and my mum in law in 2011 both to cancer, many more of my family and friends have been affected by this cruel disease.

I know first hand just how incredible Macmillan are. Their support physically, mentally and emotionally is priceless - angels as dad called them - we got to experience this in the four months from his diagnosis to passing. If I can raise more money to help others going through what we did I’ll be happy and proud.

This year will be a bigger challenge as I’ll be walking solo, well with my fabulous dad undoubtedly by my side pushing me on through the tough times. So I would massively appreciate your support, whether it’s pennies or pounds. Thank you in advance, diolch.

Here’s to you Dad 🦁💚

I have pledged to raise £250 and would appreciate any support in reaching this. By fundraising my pledge, I could pay for a Macmillan Support Worker for two days who could provide emotional, practical and financial advice to someone affected by cancer.
