Story
Our vision is a world where every child and young person survives cancer.
For 35 years, Children with Cancer UK has funded much needed research into the causes of childhood cancers, and the development of better, kinder treatments as well as funding initiatives that support children and their families through cancer treatment and beyond.
Our work has contributed significantly to a marked increase in childhood cancer survival rates and improved quality of life for patients.
This year, I am running in honour of my amazing mother in law who unexpectedly passed away in October 2025 from bowel cancer which when diagnosed… it was too late.
Unfortunately, this led to her having an emergency operation in which she ended up in a coma that she never woke up from.
She was the most helpful, caring and loving mum, nan, sister, daughter and friend to whom needed it. She devoted her life to her grandchildren.. no matter what, she would be there for whatever football match, show, or presentation there was and she always thought of others before herself!!
I know this charity is for a children cancer charity but cancer is cancer, whether your a baby, children, teenager, adult or elderly, we all deserve the best fighting chance possible.
