Story
I’m running the Royal Parks Half Marathon for Amnesty International UK — because I can’t just watch anymore.
I've run before, but this time it’s different. This time, I'm running with purpose. With heartbreak. With a need to do something.
Children are dying in Gaza and around the world. Violence against women is rising, and their rights — their autonomy — are being stripped away. Trans people are being dehumanised and targeted. In some parts of the world, people aren’t even safe walking down the street without the risk of being kidnapped or deported.
What’s even harder is the silence. The denial. The way we scroll past and look away.
I can’t do that anymore. I have to do something and no matter how small. And I know I’m not alone.
So I’m raising money for Amnesty International UK — a charity that walks the talk. They defend human rights, hold those in power accountable, and protect the vulnerable. In the UK and across the world.
If it can happen to one person, it can happen to any of us.
Your donation, no matter the size, helps fight back. Helps protect. Helps change things.
I know times are tight right now so If you can give £2 per person then I know that together this will make a difference. Please give what you can — and let’s not look away. Thank you.
Amnesty International is a movement of ordinary people from across the world standing up for humanity and human rights. When injustice happens to one person, it happens to us all.
Recent campaigns include refugee and migrant rights, climate change, children's rights, women's rights, Syrian conflict and LGBTI rights. Amnesty's biggest achievements include outlawing torture, holding war criminals to account and controlling the arms trade.
Your support is of significant value - only together can we continue to make a difference.
