We are walking the Starlight Hike in memory of our beloved mum, wife, daughter, nanny, auntie, and friend — Glynda.

Glynda passed away in July 2025 after a short stay at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice. The care she received was more than we could have ever hoped for. The staff not only looked after Mum with compassion and dignity, but they also made sure we, as a family, felt supported and cared for during such a difficult time.

Now, we want to give something back.

So many of us — family and friends — are coming together to take part in the Starlight Hike. We’re walking in Glynda’s memory, and to raise vital funds for the hospice that gave us so much comfort.

Every year our Sue Ryder Nurses and bereavement professionals provide care and support to thousands of people facing their darkest days. But we can't do it without you.

Through sponsorship, you can help make every step count towards compassionate and expert end-of-life care and grief support for families in need.

£6 could pay for favourite breakfast for a patient being cared for in one of our hospices.

£30 could fund an hour of expert care, so our Sue Ryder doctors and nurses can help manage patients’ pain and symptoms. 

£75 could help provide a vital Online Bereavement Counselling Service for someone who needs reassurance guidance and support.
