Strictly Rosie May 2025

Strictly Rosie May · 23 March 2025
We are both really excited to be dancing to support the Rosie May Foundation. Over the next few weeks, we will be transformed by our incredible dancing mentor, Bryn, from absolute novices with no dance experience at all to confident dancers! We will be showcasing our newfound skills at Kelham Hall in front of an audience of over 300 people. No pressure there! We will be performing the 'Quickstep' and the 'Cha Cha Cha', and we can't wait to share this journey with you. The Rosie May Foundation does incredible work, and we believe that every step we take on that dance floor can help make a difference for girls in need.
We hope that you will give generously to support this wonderful charity. Even better, come and join us for an afternoon of fun and entertainment at Kelham Hall on 23rd March 2025! Together, let's make a positive impact and reach our target of £1,500 for this amazing cause.
Gemma's Story
I knew of the Rosie May Charity and had seen their pink Tuk Tuks around the area. Any of you that know me well will know that pink cars hold a significant meaning for me and so this collaboration was meant to be. As a mum of three girls the mission of the Charity, which is to support girls so that they can have a positive and safe future strikes a chord.
2024 was the year that I said goodbye to my amazing Dad, following a determined battle against Pulmonary Fibrosis. The legacy he left behind, amongst many things, was to live life to the full. After watching him fight this disease with such a zest for life, I decided that 2025 was going to be the year I said 'yes'.
One day in October I was having a lovely cup of tea in Number 16, when the owner and Trustee of the Charity, Chris, excitedly thrust a leaflet in my hands, followed by 'Gemma will do it'. After taking a ten second glance at the leaflet and not really having a clue what I was agreeing to, I said 'yes'. Later that day it sunk in that I had said 'yes' to the Rosie May Strictly Come Dancing charity event. Since October it hasn't really seemed real that I'm going to be dancing in front of hundreds of people, but as we approach the start of training, it is beginning to get very real. I can honestly say that I have mixture of pure excitement and sheer horror most days. I don't come from a dancing background and struggle to coordinate my arms and legs doing step aerobics and so learning two dances in the space of ten weeks, whilst attempting to look graceful and coordinated will be the ultimate challenge. I know that this is going to be a journey of fun, laughter and adventure and I can't wait to get started. We have set ourselves a target of £1500 to raise funds for the Charity so I hope that you dig deep and give generously or even better show your support by coming to watch us at Kelham Hall. Much love Gemma x
Dom's story
I was introduced to the Rosie May Foundation through my workplace, and while I was hesitant at first, my colleagues' enthusiasm inspired me to give it a try. Stepping outside my comfort zone is always a challenge, but after my very first lesson, I discovered not only that I was having fun, but that I was actually excited for the event! I'm looking forward to this experience, hoping to create some wonderful new memories, learn some new skills, and most importantly, contribute to a worthy cause and bring joy to others along the way.
Sincerely
Dom
