Gemma's fundraiser for Level Water

Gemma Vinton is raising money for Level Water

Team: Sirendipity - raising funds for Level Water

24hr Wild Swim Relay: Watersedge 2025 · 30 August 2025 to 31 August 2025 ·

The challenge is simple. Gather a team of up to 8 swimmers and swim for an hour each, for 24 hours. It really doesn’t matter what your ability is. It’s not a race, no one is being timed or tracked. You swim as much as you want, as fast as you want.

Story

As some of you will know, I like my cold water lake swims. I don't, however, cope all that well with a lack of sleep!!! In August, I will be taking on a team challenge to swim for 24 hours straight to raise money for Level Water.

Level Water are an awesome charity who provide 1-to-1 swimming lessons for children with disabilities.

I'm doing this challenge with friends, and it's fair to say that whilst we all enjoy a swim, we aren't used to the endurance and overnight swimming bits, so we will be having to put in a bit of training.

I'd really appreciate your sponsorship. Knowing that I am raising money for kids with disabilities to be able to access swimming, and that you have supported me, will definitely give me that extra boost whilst training and actually taking part in the event.

Thanks!

Here is the team explanation:

We are gearing up to swim for 24 hours straight, and it’s going to be a test of endurance, teamwork, and sheer determination.

The real challenge comes in those cold, 2 AM swims when all we want is sleep, but that’s when the camaraderie kicks in. It’s the feeling of relief after each hour, knowing I’ve just ticked off another milestone. It’s gathering around the fire pit, clutching a hot chocolate, dancing to stay warm, and cheering as the sun rises over the lake.

We are taking on this challenge to raise money for Level Water, an incredible charity that provides 1-to-1 swimming lessons for children with disabilities. With your support, these kids might one day join us in this very event, swimming alongside their friends and family.

Every £15 funds a life-changing lesson. Please donate what you can and help me make a difference!
