🏃♀️ I’m running the 2026 London Marathon for Sense!
Hello everyone,
This year, I’ve set myself a huge challenge — to take on my first ever half marathon (Torbay half marathon on 21st September) and I’m going to be running the 2026 London Marathon for the very first time! It’s something I never imagined I’d do, but I’m proud to be taking on this journey in support of a charity that is truly close to my heart: Sense.
As an Occupational Therapist, I’ve always been passionate about inclusion, communication, and empowering people to live meaningful, connected lives — no matter their abilities. That’s exactly what Sense is all about.
Sense is a national Charity that supports people who are deafblind and those with complex disabilities, to be understood, connected, valued, and to experience the world in their own unique way. They champion communication, independence, and dignity — values that lie at the very heart of my work as an OT.
Taking on the 26.2 miles won’t be easy (especially as it’s my first ever marathon!), but knowing I’m running for a cause that aligns so closely with my professional values and personal beliefs will keep me going through every mile.
I would be so grateful for any support you can give — whether it’s a donation, a share, or a few words of encouragement. Every penny raised will help Sense continue their amazing work across the UK.
Thank you so much for being part of this journey with me 💜 and for helping me reach my London Marathon goal.
Let’s do this — for Sense, for inclusion, and for everyone who deserves to be heard and supported.
With love and gratitude,
Gemma
