Story
I'm running the 2024 London Marathon for Cardiomyopathy UK, a charity very close to my family’s hearts.
Back in 2005 my brother was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy when he was just 16 years old. It was a shock and difficult to come to terms with, and we knew very little about this rare heart condition. The disease is often underdiagnosed and can affect people at any age. In 2010, my brother, Matthew, had an ICD fitted and now in his 30s, thankfully lives a relatively normal life.
Please support me in raising money for this community of people affected by cardiomyopathy, allowing Cardiomyopathy UK to continue campaigning for better access to quality treatment, saving lives through raising awareness, and providing hope through shaping research.
Diagnosing cardiomyopathy quickly can help save lives.
