Kent Scouts - ArcticQuest2026 Project

Gemma Wood is raising money for Kent Scouts

Artic Quest 2026 - Kent Scouts Global Project · 30 April 2026

Following on from the success of the REQUEST2021 Antarctica Global Project the aim is to continue in the footsteps of Scout Marr who went north in 1925/26 as part of Frank Worsleys British Arctic Expedition.

Story

Hello,

I'm Gemma, a Squirrel Section Leader at 1st West Malling Scout Group.

As part of ArcticQuest 2026 leadership team, and with fourteen Network Scouts we will be working as a team to sail to the Arctic Circle. We will be celebrating 100 years since Frank Worsley and Scout Marr took part in the British Arctic Expedition 1926.

While away I shall be undertaking a personal project, and when back from the Arctic I shall be sharing my experience with the community and young people as far as can reach.

Individually and as a team we will be fundraising over the next 3 years. Your donation would support myself to participate in this amazing opportunity. Thank you for your support.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES:

VOYAGE An adventurous expedition Under sail in the Frozen North.

PROJECTS Undertake personal projects and present the results.

WORSLEY Celebrate the achievements of Frank Worsley.

OUTREACH Share the experience with thousands of young people.
