London Marathon 2024 · 21 April 2024 ·

Our mission is to bring together the leukaemia community so we can find and fund the life-changing research that matters most. Together we can stop leukaemia devastating lives through research, awareness and advocacy.

Story

My story..

I’m running the london marathon for Leukaemia UK. As most you will know, this is a charity very close to my heart.

3 years ago, my family and I were given the devastating news that our beloved Gareth had been diagnosed with ALL acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Gareth was so strong through this illness and fought with every inch of his being, but sadly after 2 years of battling, Leukaemia sadly took him from us.

Gareth was always so positive on his outlook, and spoke about how, when he was better he wanted to raise awareness and funds for leukaemia UK…. And this is where I come in.

Running hasn’t really been something that I’ve found easy, but as soon as we lost Gareth, I just knew that I had to take on the challenge of running the marathon.

My training has been tough, but with the support of my friends and family, I’ve never felt so motivated to reach my goal of crossing that finish line, and delivering my brothers wish of raising much needed funds for such a worthy charity.

As my feet pound the pavement, I know Gareth will be running along side me, and we will cross that finish line together.

Please support me by donating to this cause, they really do provide so much hope and support to those families who are suffering with this awful illness. Your donation really can make all the difference.

Thank you all in advance Gemma xxx

We are Leukaemia UK. We believe research has the power to stop leukaemia devastating lives.

Despite decades of incredible progress, only half of leukaemia patients live longer than five years after their diagnosis. We won’t stop until we change this.

Bringing together the leukaemia community, we will accelerate progress through life-changing research, awareness and advocacy, doing everything we can to make sure that the next person with leukaemia has the best possible experience of diagnosis, treatment and care.
