All Dressed Up… And Everywhere To Go! Gemma and Wendy walk the Cotswold way in 7 Days, in Evening Wear · 4 July 2026

Refuge opened the world’s first refuge in West London in 1971. We support thousands of women & children every day, experiencing domestic and sexual violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, stalking, trafficking, prostitution & so-called ‘honour’ based violence.

Story

All Dressed Up…And Everywhere To Go!

Gemma and Wendy walk the Cotswold Way in 7 Days, in evening wear!

This July, we are taking on the Cotswold Way—walking all 102 miles in just 7 days! To add a bit of style (and a lot of extra effort), we’ll be completing the entire walk dressed to the nines in evening wear.

We are fundraising for Refuge, a charity that does incredible work supporting survivors of domestic abuse. While neither of us has been directly affected, the safety and empowerment of women is a cause incredibly close to our hearts.

To help us please donate: Any amount helps us reach our goal for Refuge.

Why we’re doing this

Walking the Cotswold Way is one thing; doing it in gowns and sequins is quite another. We wanted to do something eye-catching to bring attention to the vital services Refuge provides every single day.

One in four women will experience domestic abuse at some point in their lifetime and on average one woman is killed every 5 days in England and Wales by a current or former partner.

Refuge is the largest single provider of specialist services to survivors of domestic, sexual and gender-based abuse and runs the freephone, 24-hour National Domestic Abuse Helpline that provides the first step to women escaping abuse.

By kindly sponsoring us you are helping to save and change the lives of thousands of women and their children.

Thank you for your support!
