Story
As many of you know, I work for a youth arts charity in London. In 2018, I started recruiting runners to take on challenges and raise vital funds. I took part too, running 4 halves' before I was 30, and subsequently retiring my running shoes!
However, in Feb, one of my charity runners dropped out just before the cut off to register names, and my 'reserve' status was called into action. With only 6-weeks to train, this isn't about getting a fast time. It's about running (& walking) for a cause you believe in.
The arts and creativity provide immeasurable benefits to us as individuals, as well wider society, however sadly, access is not equal, and many cannot afford to take part.
Wac Arts, the charity I work for aims to address this need. They provide affordable performing, creative and digital arts classes, workshops and projects, for children, young people and their families.
The charity supports young people to develop creative skills, work with others and for collaborative relationships. Participants build self-confidence, and self-esteem all while having fun and making friends. These transferable skills support them through life.
If you have a spare £ or two, or could skip that Gails' coffee for the day, please choose to support my fundraising page, and donate to Wac Arts.
I am immensely grateful.
