The Tom Barrow Brugada Trust is a UK charity set up in memory of Tom Barrow, who tragically died in November 2023 from Brugada syndrome. Tom, a devoted father of three, passed away unexpectedly due to this little-known cardiac condition. The Trust’s mission is to fund and promote research, supporting medical teams—especially in Wales—to better understand, diagnose, and ultimately prevent Brugada syndrome and related cardiac arrhythmias. By raising funds and awareness, the Trust strives to save lives through early detection and treatment.

Story

Tom Barrow died of Brugada Syndrome in November 2023. He was 38 and his death was sudden and traumatic.

Brugada is a rare inherited heart condition, which across the UK takes the lives of twelve people under the age of 40 every week. Without early diagnosis, it generally results in death.

Tom lived in Cardiff for most of his life. He was an energetic father to three young boys and happily married to Anna. He drove high-speed trains for a living and was a passionate supporter of Cardiff City FC.

Tom’s family have founded the Tom Barrow Brugada Trust with the aim of widening awareness and funding research into this little-known disease.
