Story
I'm taking part in the Midnight Walk for Saint Michael's Hospice in September to support families living with terminal illness and bereavement across the Harrogate district.
In June this year, my Mum passed away at Saint Michael's after a recurrence of her cancer. Having volunteered there for many years and understanding just how special a place it is, Mum was so appreciative of the care she received in her final days and weeks.
Palliative and end-of-life care is a particularly demanding setting in healthcare. As a family, we cannot put into words just how well they looked after Mum, the family and all Mum’s visitors too. It is an amazing place and staffed by angels!
The hospice requires increasing levels of funding to cope with growing demand and the cost-of-living crisis. I hope that you will consider a small donation to support my fund-raising for Saint Michael's Thank you. Geoff
