Hyrox London Autumn 2024 · 30 November 2024 ·

Our service is available to anyone over the age of 18 who may be socially isolated, elderly, or vulnerable. We support clients with the following needs: mental health (depression & anxiety), dementia, social isolation, neurodiversity, brain injury and stroke survivors. We provide clients and their carers with support at home and in the community. We support people to develop independent living skills and break social isolation, increasing their involvement in the local community. We encourage clients to develop life skills, engage in social activities and build their self-esteem and confidence, allowing carers time to pursue their own interests or simply time to relax. Our support is person centered, setting achievable goals with the person we support, working in partnership with local agencies to achieve the best outcomes. We fund raise for our Activities Project which allows clients to access their local community and to pursue their own interests with a support worker improving both their mental and physical wellbeing. It also reduces social isolation and encourages social engagement; clients reconnect with their local community and / or individuals with similar interests. Examples of existing activities include going shopping, attending the hairdressers, going to the golf driving range, swimming, attending yoga classes, arts and crafts and visiting the cinema and museums.

Story

On 29th November 2024, we will be taking on the men’s doubles Hyrox event 2024 at the London Excel (Gulp!). It will be a brutal fitness race consisting of both running & functional workouts, where participants will run 1km, followed by 1 functional workout station, repeated eight times. For those interested in the finer details I will post the running order for the race!

We are raising money for a small charity called the Essex Respite & Care Association who are a mental health organisation set up to provide support to adults living with a mental health diagnosis. Mental health has personally affected my own life, family life and those around me in so many ways and the ERCA rely upon the donations made by the public and help of volunteers, to be able operate and continue running, providing assistance to those affected by conditions such as anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, dementia, stroke, ABI, TBI and those who are neurodiverse.

All donations are gratefully received!
