We enhance the care at Lister, New QEII, Hertford County and MVCC by funding projects above the remit of the NHS. Projects include providing the latest equipment, making improvements to the inside and outside spaces, funding support services and items to make being in hospital that much easier.

Story

I am raising money in remembrance of my friend Nisal Gomes who passed away in January from cancer, aged just 23.

Nisal had a form of testicular cancer which normally has good chances of survival, but some people don't get diagnosed in time and others just don't react positively to treatment. It can also be difficult to diagnose as men, especially young men, don't always have the obvious 'lump down there'.

Nisal was treated at Mount Vernon Specialist Cancer Hospital in partnership with Hillingdon and Harefield hospitals. They stopped at nothing and tried various chemo regimes, stem cell transplants and open lung surgery. They threw everything at him and were brilliant at supporting and caring for him, along with the other 5000 cancer patients they treat each year.

Mt Vernon specialises in a number of men and womens cancers including prostate cancer and germ cell tumours, which include testicular cancer.

I hope to raise as much money as possible for these hospitals, in particular Mt Vernon, by throwing everything I can at my opposition in the ring! Please sponsor me, I know times are tough but no amount is too small and I am really grateful for your support.
