George Green's fundraiser for Compton Care Group Ltd

George Green LLP is raising money for Compton Care Group Ltd
At Compton Care we believe life with a complex and incurable illness doesn't have to be limiting. We work with patients to inspire, support and encourage them to take charge of their lives - because being alive isn't the same as feeling alive.

Story

Everyone at George Green is committed to  helping clients and each other succeed. To achieve this, we work hard, are always nice to others (and ourselves) and we have fun!

“Each other” includes the wider communities within which we live and work. Our efforts here include raising funds for  local charities.

Each year we support one particular charity, having asked our staff to nominate candidates which we then put to a firm wide vote. This year we have selected Compton Care as our nominated charity. Compton Care is based in Wolverhampton, where we have an office, and does sterling work in the community providing specialist care and support for families living with life limiting conditions. We have decided to support Compton Care as our nominated charity not just in 2025 but throughout 2026 as well!

We will be fundraising for Compton Care throughout the year with the various events which include staff  undertaking various challenges - which we will update you on, of course, as the year progresses.

Indeed a team consisting of  Rosie Milan, Lydia Howell, Rachel Humphries and David Stevenson has already started the ball rolling by successfully completing the Wolverhampton 10k.

Coming up ….

*May 17 - David Stevenson will be undertaking the Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge: the 58k (35 miles) scramble up and down the unforgiving hills comprising the route between Corfe Castle and Weymouth.

*June 1 - a team of Kate Mahon, Lily Johnstone, Emma Tetsill and David Stevenson will be taking part in the Sutton Fun Run: the 8 mile trek in and around the town of Sutton Coldfield  where we opened an office in 2023.

*June 26 - David Stevenson will be attempting the 24 Hour Three Peaks Challenge: climbing each of the UK’s highest mountains - Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scar Fell Pike in England and Snowdon in Wales - one after the other and all in one day!

*October 4 - a team of George Green staffers (we are up to 13!) will undertake the Stretton Skyline Walk - a 20 mile circuit around Church Stretton taking in the Long Mynd, Ragleth Hill, the Hope Bowdler Hills, Caer Caradoc and The Lawley; and which is described as “very challenging”, made more so for us, of course, as we will have to get a shift on to complete the challenge in day light!
