Story
From Thursday 21st to Sunday 24th August, I will be running the entire county of Devon, from coast to coast. This will begin at the top of Devon in Ilfracombe, finishing at the bottom of Devon in Plymouth. This coast-to-coast challenge will cover approximately 98 miles of running, along coastlines, estuaries, rivers and moorland. This roughly equates to running 4 marathons back-to-back in the space of 4 days.
I am a keen long-distance runner and have completed multiple half marathons and marathons, but I have never taken on an endurance challenge like this before, covering such mileage on consecutive days. However, I am relishing this challenge and am looking forward to pushing myself.
I will be completing this challenge to raise money for, and awareness of, the Westcountry Rivers Trust. This is a charity that works tirelessly to protect and enhance our rivers in the Westcountry and educate about the significance of their positive impact on the environment.
