Story
Hi everyone,
I am running The Great West Half Marathon in Exeter on the 25th of May!
I will be running for Nerve Tumours UK because their mission means a great deal to me. In 2016, I was diagnosed with Schwannomatosis. Schwannomas are benign tumours of the nervous system, in my case, I have developed one on the right side of the neck. I have attached an image to show the scan I had a few years ago. Anyone can develop a single schwannoma; it isn't something which can be passed through genetics.
Nerve Tumours UK provides support and information, as well as campaigns and raises awareness on behalf of over 26,500 people in the UK who have NF the medical name for a set of genetic conditions that cause tumours to grow on nerve endings: Neurofibromatosis Type 1, NF2-related-Schwannomatosis, and Schwannomatosis.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated and would go to a good cause!
