London Landmarks Half Marathon 2025 · 6 April 2025 ·

CMV Action is a UK organisation of parents and volunteers, who have come together to support families, to raise public awareness of congenital CMV, and campaign for better prevention measures within our health service. We offer advice, support and friendship to anyone affected by congenital CMV, advocating for families and working with a number of medical professionals who have an interest in this field.

Story

As dads, we're far more aware of health risks to our kids - but there's still not enough awareness about CMV.

So to help promote the work of CMV Action, help raise vital funds, and a little bit prove we still can - we've committed to running the London Landmarks Half Marathon.

Please give what you can to help support families impacted by the virus and to educate healthcare professionals about the dangers.

CMV, or Cytomegalovirus, is a common virus that can infect people of all ages. Once CMV is in a person’s body, it stays there for life. Most healthy adults and children who become infected will have no signs or symptoms and no long term effects from CMV. It can however pose serious risks to unborn babies if a pregnant woman catches it for the first time.

Congenital CMV is when a baby has been infected before birth. It is one of the leading causes of hearing loss in children and one of the main causes of childhood disability.
