Story
Running the London Marathon on behalf of the Kent Association for the Blind is both a dream come true and a lifelong goal for me.
Every marathon I run is dedicated to my daughter, Mpilo, who lives with Apert Syndrome and faces challenges with her sight. Her strength and determination inspire me every single day.
Charities like the Kent Association for the Blind provide invaluable support to families like mine. They help raise awareness of the importance of encouragement, practical support and access to the right resources, empowering people with visual impairments to live with confidence, dignity and independence.
As a seasoned ultra-marathon runner, it means so much to combine something I love with a cause that is deeply personal to me. Every mile I run in London will represent more than a personal challenge — it will be a step towards helping children and adults with visual impairments lead fulfilled, confident and independent lives.
I am proud to use my running journey to raise both awareness and vital funds for the incredible work carried out by the Kent Association for the Blind.
Nelson Mandela once said:
“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.”
This quote perfectly captures why I am fundraising: to make a meaningful difference, one step and one mile at a time.
I would be truly grateful for any donation, encouragement or support. Together, we can help the Kent Association for the Blind continue changing lives and creating opportunities for people living with visual impairments.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
