Story
Hi! I’m being sponsored by Prostate Cancer UK to run the Paris Marathon in April.
My dad has been living with Stage 3 prostate cancer for the past two years.
The day he was diagnosed, I couldn’t remember the password for my computer. The shock was blinding. He’s now navigating a world of treatment options, endless fatigue and endless waiting. Waiting for appointments, waiting for scans, waiting to start treatment and waiting for results. In short: It’s been hard and it’s not letting up any time soon.
I had no idea how common his condition is, so I’m hoping to raise awareness. I didn’t know it’s the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK. I didn’t know it affects 1-in-8 men.
I also didn’t know that when caught early, prostate cancer isn’t just treatable - it’s curable - so hopefully this persuades someone to get checked.
Thanks for reading. Any and all donations welcomed x
