Hello!

I am going to be running the London marathon in 2026 for the charity Asthma + Lung UK, a charity which helps diagnose lung disease earlier and more accurately and look to enable everyone to live well with a lung condition.

My mum has chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a condition caused by damage to the airways and/or other parts of the lung. COPD is a progressive disease, its symptoms develop slowly and worsen over time. It is a constant battle of finding the right treatment (whether it be the monthly antibiotics, steroids, or something else) and managing the symptoms.

Lung conditions are common. 1 in 5 of us will develop a lung condition during our lifetime. Lung disease is now the third most common cause of death. People living with lung conditions are often overlooked and being left behind. Their condition isn’t accurately diagnosed at an early stage – and even when they are diagnosed, they’re not given the care they need.
