Story
2026 is the 20th anniversary of the passing of my little sister, Tori. Tori incredibly sadly passed away aged 9 from a brain tumour after a very brave and courageous 8 month battle.
As soon as Tori was diagnosed in April 2006, Brain Tumour Support were immediately by my family’s side at our darkest hour to support us, and ensure that we got the attention and advice that we desperately needed.
More recently, as I’ve learned to deal with grief during my adult life, as I realised that Tori wouldn’t have been there to be a bridesmaid on my big day, and the realisation that my daughter won’t have ‘Auntie Tori’ to play and create memories with, Brain Tumour Support have provided me with 1-2-1 counselling sessions to help me understand that grieving is okay, and have given me a range of support mechanisms and tips to help me.
Brain Tumour Support continue to provide fantastic support to families up and down the country, for anybody that is associated with somebody who is fighting a brain tumour.
As a way of commemorating the 20th anniversary of Tori’s passing, thanking Brain Tumour Support for all their guidance and help over the years, and helping to support the charity with important funds to help other families and individuals that are going through similar experiences that my family and I have been through, I am tying up my laces and running The TCS London Marathon 2026.
Thank you for reading my story. I would be very grateful for any donation to help me achieve my goal.
