Story
In November, I will be travelling to Ethiopia as a volunteer with #Hope for Justice.
I will be part of a team of HR/L&D professionals spending eight days in and around Addis Ababa and Wolaita. We will divide our time between using our professional skills to provide training and development to the local staff, and spending time with the kids on activities, games and crafts to help to show them that someone does care. We will be working with frontline staff and kids in the Lighthouse Centres and spending a day doing leadership development and 'train the trainer' activities with the senior team.
I have previously participated in two Connecting HR Africa trips to Uganda with Retrak/Hope for Justice, so have seen first-hand the real difference their work makes and how dedicated their local staff are to getting kids off the streets and ultimately back into safe, family environments.
As well as paying our own way, each volunteer has committed to raise at least £2500, which will go direct to Hope for Justice, so I really need your donation to help this amazing charity continue to make a difference.
Hope for Justice is bringing freedom from human trafficking and modern slavery by identifying victims, supporting survivors and preventing exploitation. Working in the UK and around the world, the charity is making a life-changing impact for a growing number of people.
