Story
As proud parents of three children, one of whom is diagnosed autistic and two who are in the long assessment process, we know first-hand how important charities like Autistica are.
We have battled for years to get a diagnosis and support for our children. Knowing that they are autistic has helped us to understand them so much better. We have changed our behaviour to support the amazing way their minds work and we’ve seen them become more comfortable in themselves and most importantly, happier.
But we know thousands of others are waiting to get a diagnosis and the understanding and support that they need. And we need to know so much more about what good support looks like for autistic children – and adults.
That’s why I’m running the London Marathon for Autistica, the UK’s leading autism research and campaigning charity. Their work is enabling autistic people to have the same chances in life as everyone else.
Please donate so we can help every autistic person to have a happy, healthy, long life.
About Autistica
Autistica is the UK’s national autism research charity. We focus on giving autistic people the opportunity to live long, happy, healthy lives. We do this by funding research, shaping policy and working with autistic people to understand their needs.
