Story
We’re Georgia, Kaya and Caroline, three social care nurses swapping their meds rounds for a run round as we take on a half marathon to support Our Dementia Choir.
In our work, we see every day how dementia affects not just individuals, but entire families. It can take away memories, confidence and independence, but it never takes away the need for connection, joy and dignity. That’s why organisations like Our Dementia Choir are so important. Through music, they bring people together, lift spirits and help those living with dementia rediscover a sense of identity and belonging.
We’re running 21.1 kilometres in September to help keep that music playing.
Between long shifts and tired legs, training hasn’t been easy, but it’s nothing compared to the challenges faced by those living with dementia. Every kilometre we run is for them, and every donation helps support the incredible work being done to improve lives through care, community and song.
If you’re able to support us, we’d be so grateful. Together, we can make a difference, one step (and one song) at a time.
