Story
I am excited to let you know that on Sunday 27 April I will be running the London Marathon My Way.
Together with Lindsay Doy and Mark Berry, from my running club (Wimbledon Windmilers), we will run 26.2 miles around Wimbledon Common, Richmond Park and along the Thames tow path.
I am running to raise money for Share Community, which is a brilliant small charity that supports adults with learning disabilities.
This is what Share does:
Share Community is dedicated to tackling the health inequalities and discrimination faced by adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. Through inclusive programmes, training courses and activities, Share empowers their students to make their own choices to live happier, healthier and more independent lives.
Share’s programmes, courses and activities focus on:
Improving physical and mental health and wellbeing;
Developing independent living skills;
Ensuring their students can participate in their communities; and
Supporting them into voluntary and paid work
With your donations, Share can continue creating opportunities that enable their students to reach their full potential and live the lives they choose. Together we can break down barriers and create a society where everyone has the chance to thrive.
