Georgia's fundraiser for Alder Hey Children's Charity

Oli's Safari Walk - Alder Hey · 11 May 2025 ·
We are taking part in Oli's Safari Walk to raise funds for Alder Hey Children's charity.
Last year, our daughter Áine was born with a nasal obstruction resulting in her having a dacryocystocele, an uncommon condition which caused repeat infection in her eye and challenges with her breathing and feeding.
To manage the condition she required surgery at 9 weeks old.
Our experience with Alder Hey was incredible. They were able to identify the condition quickly and organised for both the ENT and opthalmology departments to work together to find a surgical solution. Every member of staff was kind and conscientious to us as a family with a tiny baby needing surgery. They showed enormous skill and expertise in their fields and did this with a huge amount of care and consideration to help our baby girl.
Around this time our niece, Penny, was also treated at Alder Hey for bronchiolitis, RSV and pneumonia. She was admitted to hospital for over a week where she received round-the-clock care from Alder Hey's amazing staff.
We are endlessly grateful to Alder Hey for taking such special care of our girls. We'd like to show our appreciation by raising money for this wonderful charity who supported us through these difficult times. We know first hand what a difference these funds can make. It's only a short walk (maybe won't feel so short for Rosa!) but we look forward to joining this event and doing what we can to support Alder Hey.
