Story
Welcome to my just giving page!
In April 2025, we sadly felt the big loss of my grandma after her battle with cancer. Thanks to Birmingham Hospice, we were afforded a calm, peaceful and dignified closing phase with my Grandma which was the greatest gift we could have asked for.
The kindness, compassion and care both my family and my grandma recieved from all the hospice staff, especially the incredible nurses, is something we will never forget, and an experience everyone should have.
However, hospice care in the UK is drastically underfunded, and dying with dignity is something we should all have access to... Which is why I have chosen to run the London Marathon to help raise money for Birmingham Hospice.
Nobody deserves to go through death alone, it is a journey that requires support and love, which is Brum hospice’s care aim.
Without Birmingham Hospice, many peoples end of life story and care would look very very different, and their impact is priceless.
