Story
Hiya,
For those who don't know me, I'm Georgia and I and running London marathon 2027!!!
Never thought I'd being say that but here we go......
I am running for The Aplastic Anaemia Trust as I myself suffered from severe aplastic anaemia back in 2018. I was 20 and had no clue what this illness was or what the treatment involved, all I remember is being scared and confused.
I was told that I would need a stem cell transplant in order to correct the aplastic anaemia. Normally finding a donor can be extremely difficult, however in my case I was very lucky. My amazing sister Jess was a match for me and sat for hours to donate her stem cells to save my life.
I know how lucky I am, even though I still struggle with the trauma of the transplant and the whole journey I went on to get here now.
I started running again inspired by my other sister Charley and my auntie Liza who ran a 10k race in support of me while I was still poorly.
Earlier this year my sister Charley ran London marathon and I was incredibly proud and inspired by her, as I always have been, so I applied and I guess that’s here we are now.
It’s my goal to raise over £2000 by April 2027 so that I can run this race for that girl back in 2018 who thought her life would never be normal again.
I would be so grateful if you donate what you can and support my journey towards the marathon ❤️
Thank you,
Georgia 💕
