Why I’m Dancing for Portsmouth Breast Imaging

​Every year, around 55,000 women in the UK are diagnosed with breast cancer—that’s one person every 10 minutes. It’s a statistic we often hear, but everything changes when that diagnosis touches someone you love.

​This year, breast cancer became personal for me when my mum was diagnosed.

​Thanks to the incredible team at Portsmouth Breast Imaging, her diagnosis and treatment moved with incredible speed and care. I am immensely grateful for the swift action and dedication of the doctors, nurses, and specialists who supported her every step of the way.

​My mum isn’t just my mum—she’s my best friend. And if you know me, you know that Zumba is a huge part of my life. What you might not know is that she is the reason I started Zumba in the first place. She was the one who encouraged me to step into my very first class, and honestly, dancing without her wouldn't be the same. Her strength, enthusiasm, and joy inspire me every single day.

​Now, I want to use the high energy and togetherness of Zumba to give something back.

​We are turning movement into support, rhythm into hope, and sweat into vital funding! Every penny raised through this event will go directly to Portsmouth Breast Imaging to help ensure they can continue providing fast, life-saving diagnoses, state-of-the-art care, and compassionate support to other families when they need it most.
