Story
We are raising money in honour of Cody George Armstrong who we sadly lost in February 2024.
Back in January 2024 my boyfriend and I’s nephew Cody was born a few months prematurely. He came early just like his gorgeous sister Callie had a few years before!
Unfortunately, in February 2024 Cody’s parents Lauren and Nathan got the devastating news that Cody’s condition was not going to improve. A few days later Cody gained his angel wings on the 17th February with his mum and dad by his side. The heartbreak and pain this has brought to their family and us is indescribable but it left me with a goal to raise awareness around such an important cause and to ensure we are able to carry Cody’s legacy on, just like he deserves.
This is where we have had the rather crazy idea (Jamie and I) to run from Lauren and Jamie’s home town of Chesham, all the way to Bolton hospital where Cody was looked after and cared for until his final minutes. This is roughly going to be around 200 miles, and to add to the challenge we want to do it in 4 days (meaning just shy of 2 marathons a day most days), starting on the 15th January 2026 and finishing on the 18th January 2026, which would be Cody’s second heavenly birthday. We have set the goal to raise £10,000 in total, £5,000 for Sands and £5,000 for Bolton Neo Natal unit who looked after Cody.
We know this going to be a challenge, which is certainly going to test us massively both mentally and physically - but we can’t think of a better reason to do it and we are determined to make Cody proud!
Cody this one is for you 🩵🪽✨
Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story and for any donations made 🩵
