Story
On April 27th, I will be running the London Marathon to raise money for Nightwatch, a Croydon-based charity that supports people experiencing homelessness. Every night, Nightwatch volunteers are out in the community, providing food, clothing, and essential supplies to those in need.
It’s shocking that in 2025 so many people are still living on the streets without food or shelter. We never know when our lives might take an unexpected turn, and too often we take having a safe place to live for granted—even though it should be a basic human right. Research shows that approximately 1 in 10 people in the UK will experience homelessness at some point in their lives, a reminder of how fragile our own security can be.
Nightwatch is an incredible charity who help individuals rebuild their lives—whether by stabilising former homeless people in new accommodation, supporting them in accessing education or employment, or simply providing a friendly presence to boost confidence and empowerment.
Entirely volunteer-led, with no paid staff or office premises, every donation goes directly to those who need it most.
Running 26.2 miles will be tough, but it pales in comparison to the daily struggles faced by those without a safe place to call home. Any donation, big or small, will make a real difference in supporting Nightwatch’s incredible work.
