Story

I’ve decided to raise money for a charity very close to my heart. My son (Cody) was diagnosed with Type one Diabetes the day after his first birthday. He became extremely poorly very quickly and was hospitalised for a week after to recover, after he had gone in to Diabetic ketoacidosis. The doctors told me I was very close to loosing him that day.

Living with Type One Diabetes is a very complicated life and can be really frustrating at times knowing you can never be without medication. Luckily technology is getting better with the help of JDRF making life more manageable for everyone living with diabetes.

JDRF invest in world-class research to find a cure and improve treatments and prevention until the day arrives. They support both people living with the condition and parents of children diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. They campaign for better treatments including providing access to type 1 technology (which is honestly life changing) for everyone who wants to use it.

I have never run a marathon and will find this a HUGE challenge due to passed injury’s, time to train and just the overall event but I really want to give it my all and use this opportunity to raise what I can for this charity.
